Halloween And Other Pictures

Happy Halloween, everyone! Here's our boys in their costumes (chef and pumpkin):

My turn

James told me it's my turn to update the blog. Well I'm not very good at pictures and I don't tell very good stories and I have so much on my mind these days I don't even know where to begin. So I will start with something happy, Hudson. He does the cutest things ALL the time. Here are a couple of things that make me smile:

- He loves to dance. He will point at the radio and start hopping around, or if James is around he will pat the piano bench then start playing (and sometimes sing too). He has very good rhythm. It is a blast to watch him. One of these days we are going to get it on video.

- He is obsessed with cooking. His favorite toys are his pots and pans and mini stove that he will move from place to place and stir and taste. The other day he had everything set up on the piano bench and it looked like he was doing a cooking show. He will even clean up after himself when he is done by wadding up the little pot holder I made for him and wipe everything down after putting his dishes away.

He can be a little stinker though. He jabbers all the time and occasionally I hear a word or two but most of the time it is just gibberish. Other times he will randomly copy words that I say. The other day I asked if he was going to help me put on my socks and he said plain as day "sock". Later that day I asked him to say "sock" for me and he just looked at me and laughed. He does that all the time. He just doesn't want me to know how smart he is I guess. I keep saying that he is waiting to talk until he can form complete sentences. For now his very rough (self-invented) sign language is all he will do when he wants something.

Well it is way past my bedtime and I have to get up entirely too early in the morning so I'm going to wrap this little post up. Nighty night.

I'm an Aunt!

Julie finally had her baby! They are not sure of a name yet. She was born in the afternoon on Saturday, May 1st! A beautiful baby girl, 7 lbs 9 oz, 21 inches long.

Well folks, here you go. The first one was such a surprise hit that the executives at Fort Russell Productions have greenlighted a sequel. Very little details are known at the moment, but we did manage to get a screenshot of one of the early scenes.

The Music Man!

Come see me and Darlene in our Stake's production of "The Music Man." It's a classic musical about a con-man who comes to a small town in Iowa in 1912. All kinds of shenanigans occur. We've been rehearsing for a couple of months now and we're excited to finally perform it. It's going to be a lot of fun.

The show runs March 19 and 20 at 7:00pm at Mount Jordan Middle School (here's a google maps link if you need it). Admission is free!

This smiley faced little boy is not only going to have a cousin in less than two months, he will have a sibling right around his birthday. Busy year for babies I guess!

Mom: "No you will not. That is too early"

I did end up winning. It took an hour and a half and a lot of tears. I've decided we are cutting back on naps. Just one a day... if that! I am going to miss my during the day down time to get things done. Oh well. It is worth it if I can sleep in until at least seven o'clock.
